2009 Pumpkin Run Race Course Maps

5K Race Course Map
The 5K race starts near the entrance into Buffalo Park at the top of Cedar Road. The course starts by taking the path to the right (heading north east). Runners will follow the trail around, over the main trial and west until the path curves around and starts heading south east. Runners continue along the path, crossing the main path near the finish before running the small finishing loop that includes the first leg of the run. When this path crosses the main trail, runners take a hard left and run down the main trail that is a straight-shot to the finish line. Save some energy for a strong finish because this part of the race is a little longer than it first appears

10K Race Course Map
The 10K is similar to the 5K except that the 10K cuts across to the start after the first loop and doesn't jut down like the 5K course. The good news is that you don't have to run up that short, steep hill. The bad news is that you are't even at the half-way point and still have some miles to put in before you can call it a day. Once around the first loop the 10K jots across the Cedar bridge and south for the second leg of the race. You turn around in a small residential col de sac and start to head back. Once back to the race finishing area (you're not done yet), runners take to the right loop and then back  home down the long finishing stretch. This is a great course with packed trails and plenty of scenery to keep your mind of what you are doing to your legs.

1-Mile Race Course Map
The One-Mile race course takes runners around the same way as the other races except they head straight to the finish line as soon as they intersect the main trail. This race is pretty flat and fast so look for your best times. If you don't see a best time, there are plenty of other things and scenery to look at - like the guy wearing the big pumpkin suit.

Kids' Dashes

The Kids' Dashes start at 9 a.m. are the first ones to start racing. This allows for parents to do some rooting before they start running, themselves. The dashes vary in length from 50-100 yards are are just out and back from the finish line. No need for a map because they are only going a good stone-throw out and back. There will be no betting on winners, but you can gamble everyone will have a great time chasing the crazy man dressed like a huge, orange pumpkin. Be sure to finish your race warm-up in time to catch this featured event.

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
